Budokan Volunteer Event
The Terasaki Budokan are really great partners with our church. They are part of a larger non profit called the Little Tokyo Service Center that does great work for the community. We occasionally help them with installing and removing their floor covering when they have events. They are looking for volunteers for Wednesday, September 17th and Thursday September 18th. If you are interested please sign up at the Welcome Table or the weekly email newsletter.

Gym Fellowship
In a couple of Sundays we have our annual "Gym Fellowship." It's for adults and children. We'll have a mean game of Dodgeball and basketball. It's a great opportunity to connect with people and enjoy the end of summer.

Signups are now open for four community groups in Downtown, the Westside, Pasadena and Online. There will be a limit of 12 people in each community group. So please reserve a space now! Please sign up at the Welcoming Table if you are interested.

Prayer Walk
After service today we'll be meeting for a prayer walk around Downtown. We're going to tour Little Tokyo, Skid Row, the Arts District and the Historic Center and have lunch at Grand Central Market. It's about a one and a half mile walk so bring comfortable shoes and water. It will be a great way to learn more about Downtown and pray over its growth. You can meet with me right outside the Terasaki Budokan at 11:45am.

Mission Prayer Meeting
Every month our church gets together online to pray for our community and overseas missionaries. We are often joined by John or Carol Gim, our missionaries to Cambodia. Please come and join us this coming Thursday at 7pm. There is a Zoom link in our weekly email newsletter. Our website also has the most recent update from the Gims as well as a video from Nico!

House 2 Home Volunteer Event
Thanks to those of you who signed up for our House 2 Home Volunteer Event. After an initial delay, we finally have a date where we will be helping to move a family to their new home. We will be helping to furnish a home for a mother and her three daughters (ages 9, 11 and 13). They were formerly living out of their car but with the help of various organizations they are now in an apartment. The move in date will be next Saturday at noon. If you are able to help please see Jean Lee or register to help online.

Summer Service Trip to Cambodia
This summer, P. Dennis will be traveling to Cambodia to lead a retreat for the MTW team of missionaries. We are looking for a couple people to join him in June (exact dates: 6/20-6/27) to help with childcare. Specifically, we’re looking for those who can run a small VBS for 12 missionary kids (ages ranging from 4-17). Programming is flexible. We don’t have funding for the trip but we can help with fundraising. Please speak to Nina, if interested.

Our Glow Children's Ministry will be hosting a Family picnic on Saturday, June 14th. We'll be meeting at Hermosa Beach at 11am. It will be a great time for our families and kids to connect. Our children's ministry Director, Yunju Ray, will be contacting our families with more information.

Bonfire Summer Bible Study
Ready to go deeper? Join us for Bonfire—a new summer Bible study designed to spark community and ignite your walk with God. Together, we’ll journey through a verse-by-verse exploration of Romans, inviting participants to engage with Scripture in a profound and meaningful way. Each gathering will include thought-provoking bible study, rich discussion, and intentional time for prayer, worship, and reflection. This isn’t just another Bible study—it’s a space to be challenged, encouraged, and inspired. Bonfire begins June 4th and will meet 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 7p in Glendale throughout the summer. Bring a Bible, bring a friend, and come ready to grow in your faith! If you want to participate please talk with Natasha Barber after service or you can fill out an interest form online.

The Table Fellowship
The Table is an opportunity for our community to share our lives at a common table. For each meal we’ll be cooking, eating and cleaning together. During the meal we’ll be engaged in an open ended, topical discussion. When you sign up, you’ll be matched with a host and a diverse group of people. You can sign up to host, cook or clean. Everyone will be participating in the meal and discussion. Our next event will be on Saturday, May 17th. Please sign up today at the Welcoming Table or look for a link in our weekly email newsletter.

Coffee with Pastor Dennis
Pastor Dennis really desires to get to know everyone at our church individually but it's hard for him to connect with everyone on Sundays. He wanted to offer a time to meet with people informally over coffee every month. This Saturday he'll be at Civil Coffee in Highland Park from 10am to Noon. This will be a great chance to catch up with him whether you are new to our church or have been a member for many years. Just drop by and find him at the outdoor patio of Civil Coffee. Next month he'll be coming to Downtown LA.

Fellowship Lunch
Next Sunday, February 23rd, we have our first all church "Fellowship Lunch." This will be a great time for you to connect with other people at City Light. We'll be gathering at Suehiro, an amazing authentic Japanese restaurant, which is walking distance from the Budokan. Please mark your calendars and make plans to join us!

Congregational Meeting
We have our yearly congregational meeting after our service today. This will be a great time to get updates about plans for the coming year. We'll look at some of our yearly goals, activities that we have planned, an update on leadership training, what's new with Children's Ministry and an overview of our budget. We encourage all of our members to attend. This meeting is also open to any visitors or attenders as well.
